WordPress 2.0.6 Released

Written on January 5, 2007

The anticipated version 2.0.6 of WordPress was released this morning. WordPress users should upgrade as soon as possible since the new version patches a serious security issue.

What’s new:
Multiple security fixes
HTML quicktags now work with Safari browsers
Filtered comments to prevent broken layouts
Compatible with PHP and FastCGI server setups

You can grab WordPress 2.0.6 here.

The WordPress.org blog also makes note that this will be the last public release of the 2.0.x series. Keep an eye out for 2.1, which will include some major new features. If you’re interested, you can even try the 2.1 beta out. As a side note, this is probably our last release before 2.1 is out, which will be our first major feature release in quite a while. 2.1 just entered beta stage, so if you’re interested in playing around with it you can do so here.
