How to get listed on Google in 24 hours

Written on November 11, 2006

You may have seen my post from last year about getting a site indexed by Google in under a week. Well, I have broken my record, Google indexed my new site in under 24 hours.

On Thursday at roughly 7PM, I purchased a new domain name and hosting account. I immediately activated the account, setup the nameservers, and created a database. The site was live by 10PM. I then uploaded WordPress and made a few posts.

On Friday at noon, I manually submitted the site to Google and 20+ other search engines. I took advantage of all Google tools - analytics, base, reader, etc. Then I submitted the URL to 20 web directories with high page rank. Finally, later that evening, I posted 3 articles on ArticleAlley.com including links to the site at the bottom of each post.

On Saturday, I checked the status at around 1PM and found that Google had crawled and indexed the site. With no surprise, it gave it a PR of 0, but it did crawl through all of the posts I had made.

Can you beat 24 hours?
