How to get listed on Google in under a week

Written on August 8, 2006

Is it possible to get your website listed on Google and other search engines in under a week? I set out with the mission of seeing just exactly how fast I could get listed.

To my surprise, my site was indexed by Google in 5 days! These are the steps I used.

1. Manually submit to Google, MSN, Yahoo, and other major search engines. Submit to 100+ high ranking directories (list).

2. Generate some back links to your site. I posted several articles on reference sites, including a back link in each article. I also suggest making a few press releases on sites like PRWeb. See three basic link building strategies.

3. Take advantage of every Google site tool you can. Submit your site to Google Sitemaps, add your site’s feed to Google Reader, submit content to Google Base, etc. This is a very important step.

Enjoy! How fast can you get your site indexed?
